This is 7 years old boy, Abhisek Roy Son of Bijoy Kanti Roy and Sukla Roy, a resident of Public School Road, Rangirkari, Silchar was diagnosed having cerebral palsy. The boy had difficult birth history (bleeding from 2nd month of pregnancy and forceps delivery at about 225 days of pregnancy) and required hospital support after birth. He had normal behavioural Development, but was having weakness in both upper and lower limbs with weakness of back muscles. The child had good parent support & as the child was recognized by us, we started extending our support to the child.

Parent councelling was done and a measure to improve his posture was shared. The child was given physiotherapy at our day care centre with continuous physio therapy his posture and weaknesses has improved. The child is having almost normal intelligence, normal behaviour and speech development, but requires support to do normal day to day activities and feeding. The boy is now attending schools showing normal learning abilities. He does good recitation its our pleasure that this child is having good social and educational support through us. We elieve through our work and support we could bring many such children to normal life for a better future.

• The child who has no age for mainstreaming & some child who has been suffering from severe & profound disability were covered through home based support by the volunteers & RT.
• The support is mainly provided for physical development

Achievement

We have been providing home support along with school support. I have been visiting Kripesh Bauri since 2009, I would like to mention his improvement below: Kripesh Bauri is 12 years ols, son of Jiten Bauri belonging to
Binnakandi Bagan GP under Lakhipur Edn. Block. Since the child is total blind, he has been taught with STLM. He is learning songs, rhymes, mathematical calculation & has shown good talent in singing.
